Carolina Cup
The Carolina Cup race-meeting is a time honored South Carolina tradition that has achieved premier social event status. The annual 'rites of spring' draws over 65,000 fans from throughout the southeast, to enjoy the thrilling sport of steeplechase horse racing amid a flurry of spring fashions and elaborate tailgate parties. From the Corporate Terrace to College Park, old friends meet and new friends are made during the afternoon of seven races.
Carolina Cup / Springdale Race Course Policies
Directions to Springdale Race Course

- Where: Springdale Race Course, 200 Knights Hill Rd, Camden, South Carolina
- When: Saturday, March 28, 2009
- Race Day Schedule: Gates Open 9AM. Post Time (or start) for the first of either 6 or 7 races is 1:30PM. Races run 35 minutes apart.
- Cost:
- General Admission Tickets: $25 prior to March 20, 2009 - $35 after March 20, 2009
- Infield: $125 per parking space. Includes one parking credential for one parking space in the infield and two general admission tickets
- South and West Rail: $125 per parking space. Includes one parking credential for one parking space on the South or West Rail and two General Admission tickets
- Front Row Paddock: $250 per parking space. Includes one parking credential for one parking space on the Front Row Paddock and two General Admission tickets
- College Park Rows A&B: $800 per space. Includes two parking credentials for one space on College Park Row A&B that measures 40' wide by 30' deep, and a 20' x 20' tent. (NOTE: NO General Admission tickets are included)
- College Park Rows C-E: $100 per parking space. Includes one parking credential for one parking space on College Park Rows C-E, and two General Admission tickets
- Grandstand Box: $600 per Box. Includes one parking credential for one Grandstand Box, Six Box Seat badge credentials and six wristbands,which allow all day access to the Post and Paddock Clubhouse Luncheon tent
- Jim Hudson Lexus Post and Paddock: $50 per person
- Allows all day access to the Clubhouse tent (NOTE: A Lexus Post and Paddock Clubhouse wristband DOES NOT count as an entrance ticket to the grounds. Anyone possessing a Lexus Post and Paddock Clubhouse Luncheon wristband must also possess General Admission ticket or another type of credential)

- Parking Space Reservation Policies:
- Parking space reservation forms are sent mid-January
- The day the reservation forms are sent in the mail, tickets and parking space reservations are also available on-line: www.carolina-cup.org. Those who had a space at the 2007 Carolina Cup have first priority to that same space for the 2008 Carolina Cup if payment is received by February 14, 2009.
- If payment is not received by February 14, 2009 the space may be sold. The Carolina Cup Racing Association is not responsible for loss of reserved parking spaces due to non-receipt of the race "invitation"/reservation form. Space holders are responsible for renewing spaces by the renewal cut-off date or risk losing the parking space.
- The Carolina Cup Racing association must be notified prior to January of any address changes. The CCRA is not responsible for spaces lost due to failure to inform us of any address changes.
- If you want to move to a different space from the space you had last year, make your request on the back of the reservation card for the new space you wish to purchase. If it becomes available, you will be notified. Your request will be placed on the waiting list in the order they are received into the office.
- If you wish to purchase the space next to, behind or near your space or other spaces, you MUST PURCHASE the space you had last year plus the new space or spaces you wish to add. Make your request on the back of the reservation card as to the specific space or spaces you wish to add. If the space or spaces become available, you will be notified. If the space or spaces do not become available, your money will be refunded.Your request will be placed on the waiting list in the order they are received into the office
- NOTE: All parking spaces were sold out in 2008 as a result all parking spaces have first priority to their previous owner until February 14, 2009. Any space not reserved by February 14, 2009 is fair game on a first come basis. If you wish to purchase a difference space than the one you had in 2008 make your request and submit payment to the Carolina Cup offices in January.
- General Policies
- All gates open at 9AM and not before.
- Tickets and Parking are non refundable.
- Races run rain or shine.
- The Carolina Cup Racing Association is not responsible for loss of reserved parking spaces due to non-receipt of the race invitation (space reservation) form. Space holders are responsible for renewing their spaces by the renewal cut off date or risk losing the parking space.
- Tickets MUST be worn on outer clothing at all times during the day. Every individual on the grounds must have a ticket or badge credential. (*Exception: children under 12 are free and do not need a ticket or credential).
- Every person who enters Springdale Race Course must show their pre-purchased general admission ticket or badge credential. If a general admission ticket has not been pre-purchased, a general admission ticket MUST be purchased on the grounds.
- Any person contributing to the falsification of parking credentials and tickets or found in possession of counterfeit tickets will be removed from the premises and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
- No duplicate tickets will be provided.
- Every vehicle on the grounds MUST have a color coded parking credential hang tag. Only vehicles with the appropriate color coded hang tag will be allowed into the appropriate color coded gate parking areas. Vehicles that do not have the appropriate color coded hang tag credentials must park in General Parking.
- All tailgate parties MUST stay contained within each space. This includes Pop-Up type tents and canopies. Infield, Front Row Paddock, South Rail, and West Rail parking spaces are 9'wide X 20'deep.
- No subletting of parking spaces.
- No corporate logos on tents unless prior arrangements have been made with the racing association.
- No corporate signs, banners, flags or other promotional items unless prior arrangements have been made with the racing association.
- The sales, marketing or promoting of products or businesses is forbidden unless prior arrangements have been made with the racing association.
- The sale or distribution of merchandise or souvenirs is forbidden unless prior arrangements have been made with the racing association.
- The use of the Carolina Racing Associations logos, names and likenesses are not allowed unless prior arrangements have been made with the racing association.
- Nothing over 10' in height is allowed in the infield. This includes vehicles, Pop-Up type tents, canopies and awnings.
- Pegged party type tents are NOT ALLOWED in the infield.
- No tents, awnings or canopies of any kind are permitted on Front Row Paddock spaces 1-199.
- Pegged party type tents are allowed on South Rail, West Rail and Front Row Paddock spaces 200-297. Please call the CCRA offices if your plans include a party tent on any of these spaces.
- No generators allowed in the Infield, on Front Row, North Rail, South Rail or West Rail.
- No trailers are allowed in the Infield, on Front Row, North Rail, South rail or West Rail.
- No wheeled vehicles motorized or other with the exception of cars or trucks are allowed.
- No pull behind grills.
- No charcoal grills of any kind.>
- No dogs or any other pets.
- No loud music - be mindful of your neighbors.
- No unseemly behavior.
- All oversize vehicles, vans, campers, RVs, and buses MUST use Restricted Parking or General Parking.
- It is a condition of the issuance of tickets that all attendees shall hold the Carolina Cup Racing Association, its sponsors and beneficiaries harmless for any damage, loss or accident. Failure to honor race policies shall result in expulsion from the grounds and loss of reserved space.
- No tents, awnings or canopies of any kind are allowed in Boxholder or VIP Parking areas.
- Nothing over 10' in height is allowed in the infield. This includes vehicles, pop-up type tents, canopies and awnings.
- Pegged party type tents are not allowed in the infield.
- Access to the Lexus Post and Paddock Luncheon tent is by wristband only. All wristbands must accompany an admission ticket or credential. All wristbands must be worn tightly on the wrist. Wristbands worn on clothing or accessories will not be allowed.(*Exception: children under 12 accompanied by an adult with a wristband are free and do not need a wristband).
- All 'General Policies' apply.
- No vehicles will be allowed between College Park Rows A&B.
- All vehicles must be parked facing the designated stake for that space. No vehicles may be parked sideways at any of the spaces.
- No other tents then the provided 20'X20' tents will be allowed on College Park Rows A&B.
- Pop-Up type tents only are allowed on College Park Rows C-E. No other tents will be permitted.
- No flag poles or poles of any kind taller then 15' in College Park.
- Bands have to stay within the space allotted to those that hired the band.
- Bands can not bother the spaces next door. Please be mindful of those that did not hire the band.
- College Park does not have electricity.
- The only vehicles allowed into the College Park area are those with a yellow parking credential. If bands or caterers do not have a yellow parking credential they will not be allowed into the College Park area. No drop offs.
- All band members, catering staff, bus drivers or any other hired entity must also have a general admission ticket.
- Carolina Cup Racing Association Office accept cash, check, Visa and MasterCard (NOTE: Gate sales for general admission tickets are cash only)

- Races are run rain, wind, or shine! No refunds will be made.

NO GLASS BEVERAGE CONTAINERS! The reason is safety for horses and fans...so please use cans and plastic for your beverages.
